The life of Nishikigoi beyond the mountain ponds of Yamakoshi and Ojiya in Niigata Prefecture began mostly in Japanese Gardens. It was Emperor Hirohito, honored as Emperor Showa, who was gifted eight Koi at the Tokyo Exposition of 1914, then taking them to his Imperial Palace garden ponds.
Koi Waters will be traveling to Japanese Garden Koi Ponds of Japan and elsewhere to showcase both the Nishikigoi as well as the gardens. I believe there is a symbiotic relationship between the two that is part of the overall zen of a Japanese Garden.
